Bhola: A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was chopped to death by miscreants at Chairman Bazar in Char Fasson upazila of Bhola in the early hours of Saturday.

The victim is Abdur Razzak, president of Char Fasson upazila unit of JCD, also a resident of Jinnagar village in the upazila.

Local people said a group of miscreants beat Razzak with sticks and chopped him with sharp weapons while he was chatting with some of his friends on a dam in the area at about 12:30am, leaving him injured critically.

Razzak was first taken to Char Fasson Health Complex and then shifted to Sadar Hospital where he died at about 5:00am.     

The Char Fasson police said they have learnt that a young man was beaten to death by a mob while he along with others was trying to commit robbery in Chairman Bazar area on Friday midnight.
