Mymensingh: Two siblings were killed and four others injured in an attack over a trifling matter at Boirati village under Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh on Sunday.

The deceased are Razia Sultana and her younger brother Rajtik, in their fifties, daughter and son of Golam Hossain of the village.

Gouripur police officer-in-charge Akhter Morshed said Rajtik had an altercation with his neighbour Aftab Uddin as the cow of Rajtik ate plants on a paddy field owned by Aftab in the morning.

As a sequel to it, Aftab Uddin along with his supporters equipped with sharp weapons swooped on Rajtik’s house in the afternoon and stabbed the six family inmates, including Rajtik, indiscriminately, leaving them injured.

Four of the injured including Rajtik and his sister Razia were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where the two siblings died at about 3:30pm.

Informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy.

However, police could not arrest anyone as Aftab Uddin managed to flee.
