Feni: Three people were killed and 10 others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a motorcycle in Matubhuiyan Bridge area on the Noakhali-Feni Highway in Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni on Monday evening.

The deceased are Omar Ahmed Roki, Imam Hossain Sujon, and Mesbaul Haque Ponni, 24, residents of Chandpur village in the upazila.

The Daganbhuiyan police said the accident took place when a Noakhali-bound bus of Sugandha Paribahan collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in the area at about 5.30pm, leaving the three motorcycle riders critically injured.

The bus also fell into a ditch as its driver lost control over the steering after the crash, leaving its 10 passengers injured.

Later, local people rescued the injured and sent them to Feni Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctors declared the trio dead.
