Dhaka: A female senior judicial magistrate was injured as some muggers dragged down her on road by grabbing her bag at Tikatuli in Dhaka early on Sunday.

The injured is Lubna Jahan, believed to be 35 years old, a senior judicial magistrate of Tangail.

Lubna, a resident of Dinnath Sen Road area of Gendaria in Dhaka, was going to Kamalapur Railway Station riding a rickshaw on way to her workplace in Tangail on Sunday morning.

When she reached in front of Salauddin Specialised Hospital at Tikatuli, two muggers pulled off the vanity bag of Lubna in a desperate attempt to take it away and as the bag strap was wrapped around her hand, she fell down from the rickshaw at about 5:30am and received injuries.

Later the victim went to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where she received primary treatment, said hospital authorities.

There were Tk 8,000, a mobile phone set, her national identity card and office ID card and some official documents in the bag, which the bandits snatched away, said Lubna.
