ACC gives clean chit to UCBL MD
Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has cleared managing director of United Commercial Bank Limited (UCBL) Mohammad Ali from graft allegations.
The Commission gave him the clean chit through a circular signed by its secretary Maksudul Hasan Khan, which was posted on the Commission’s website recently.
According to an allegation received by the ACC earlier this year, Mohammad Ali provided loans to his relatives from his bank violating banking rules and misusing his power. There was also an allegation that he himself took a loan of Tk 4.5 crore from the bank in two phases, violating the banking rules.
But, the ACC in its probe started in June 2015 did not find any irregularity or corruption he committed in the bank and relieved from graft allegations, ACC sources said.
