Ex-PDB chairman slaughtered in Dhaka
Dhaka: Miscreants slaughtered former Power Development Board (PDB) chairman Khijir Khan at his Khanka Sharif (gathering place of followers) at Gudaraghat at Madhya Badda area in capital on Monday evening.
Police recovered the body of Khijir Khan, 66, also a so-called pir, after 8:30pm.
The Khanka Sharif is situated on the 2nd floor of his six-storey house.
Sub-inspector Obaidul, operations officer at Badda Police Station, said some people entered the building in the evening on the pretext of offering Maghrib prayers at the khanka.
Khijir was found slaughtered at the khanka at about 8:30pm, said the SI, adding that the reason behind the killing could not be known yet.
