2 bank officials held over Kunio murder freed

Rangpur: Two private bank officials who were detained from Rajshahi on Thursday in connection with the killing of Japanese citizen Hoshi Kunio were released on Saturday.
The bank officials are sales and service officer M Sultan Nahid, credit card officer M Shahriar of Alupatti branch of a private bank in Rajshahi city.
‘The two bank officials were released after interrogation as we haven’t found their involvement in the killing,’ Kaunia police officer-in-charge Rejaul Karim said.
A joint team of Detective Branch of Rajshahi and Rangpur picked up four officials of the private bank at Alupatti of Rajshahi city on Thursday night as soon as they stepped out of their office.
However, two of the bank officials were released after primary interrogation while Nahid and Shahriar were sent to Rangpur on Friday for further interrogation.
Hoshi Kunio was shot to death in Rangpur on 3 October, five days after the killing of Italian citizen Cesare Tavella in Dhaka's Gulshan area.
