Kustia: Raising question over the logic behind the USA and UK issuing heightened security alerts for their citizens in Bangladesh, Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu on Saturday said the two countries failed to provide security to their citizens on their own soil.

‘They have failed to provide security to their citizens in their own country. Why have they issued alerts for their citizen’s security in Bangladesh? Government will try its best to ensure security of all foreign nationals in Bangladesh,’ Inu said.

The minister came up with these remarks while talking to reporters after laying a foundation stone at Durgatola intersection in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia district.

Inu said, ‘Our position is clear. There will be no militants, war criminals and arsonist-terrorists in politics. When they exist, democracy gets ruined. In their absence democracy remains safe.’

He alleged that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia could not give up her ‘friendship’ with the militants in the last 20/25 years.
