Dhaka condemns terrorist attacks in Ankara
Dhaka: President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Saturday strongly condemned the barbaric and cowardly terrorist attacks in Ankara, Turkey and reiterated that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all forms.
They issued separate messages to their Turkish counterparts mentioning that the people of Bangladesh join them in expressing their solidarity in Turkey’s fight against terrorism in the country and beyond, according to Foreign Ministry in Dhaka.
‘I take this opportunity to reiterate that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and has been pursuing ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards terrorism,’ President Hamid said in a message to his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The President was deeply saddened and shocked to learn the terrorist attacks near the train station in Ankara today that claimed the 86 valuable lives and left hundreds injured.
‘Bangladesh condemns this heinous act of terrorism in the strongest possible terms,’ President Hamid said.
He expressed his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to
Turkish President and to the bereaved family members of the victims as well as all the Turkish brethren for this sad incident.
‘I also pray quick recovery for the injured people. May the departed souls rest in eternal peace in the highest place in the paradise and may the Almighty Allah grant the brotherly people of the Turkish state the fortitude and patience to bear this irreparable loss,’ he added.
In her message to Turkish Prime Minister Prof Dr Ahmet Davutoğlu, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘We reaffirm our Government’s commitment to work together with the Republic of Turkey and the world community to fight against this menace.’
It is a matter of deep sorrow and great concern that 86 Turkish people were killed and more than 186 were injured due to twin terrorist bomb attacks in Ankara on Saturday, she mentioned.
‘I express my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to you and through you to the bereaved family members of the victims as well as all the Turkish brethren for this tragic incident.
We strongly condemn the barbaric and cowardly terrorist attacks,’ said the Prime Minister.
She reiterated that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and her government has been pursing ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards terrorism.
The PM prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls. ‘May the Almighty give the members of the bereaved families the courage and fortitude to overcome the irreparable loss.’
In his message to Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Hadi Sinirlioğlu,
Mahmood Ali said he is deeply shocked and at dismay to learn that 86 Turkish people were killed and more than 200 were injured this morning caused by twin explosions in Ankara.
‘I express my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to you and through you to the bereaved family members of the victims as well as all the Turkish brethren for this tragic incident. We strongly condemn the cowardly and heinous terrorist attack,’ said the Foreign Minister.
He reaffirmed Government’s commitment to work together with the Republic of Turkey and the world community to fight against this menace.
