Ashkona burn victim dies at DMCH
Dhaka: A girl who sustained burn injures in an explosion resulting from leak of a gas burner at Ashkona in Dhaka on Sunday morning, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the early hours of Thursday.
The deceased is a 12-year-old demonestic held Sakina.
DMCH authorities said Sakina died at the burn unit of the hospital at about 3:30am.
Earlier on Sunday, four members of a family and their housemaid Sakina, were burnt after an explosion in their gas pipeline burner in the city’s Ashkona area.
The injured are Rehana Akhter, her sons Rejwan Ahmed Shuvo and Tanvir Ahmed Niloy, daughter Afsana Akhter, and domestic help Sakhina Akhter.
Shuvo, one of the victims, said the kitchen exploded with a loud bang when their maid Sakhina lighted a matchstick to fire up the gas stove.
