Dhaka: A woman who suffered was burnt in an explosion resulting from leak of a gas burner in the Ashkona area of Dhaka on Sunday morning died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Thursday morning.

The deceased is Rehana Akhter, wife of a Saudi Arabia expatriate Abul Kashem.

DMCH authorities said Rehana died at the burn unit of the hospital at about 11:30am.

Earlier, the housemaid Sakina who had also burnt in died at about 3:30am on Thursday at the hospital.

Sokina had been undergoing treatment at DMCH.

On Sunday, four members of a family and their housemaid Sakina received burn injuries in an explosion resulting from leak of a gas burner in the city’s Ashkona area.
