Fakhrul off to Singapore for treatment
Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to Singapore for physical treatment on Saturday.
Fakhrul left Shahjalal Internatioal Airport for Singapore by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at about 8:00am on Saturday.
The BNP leader’s family said he has to go there to consult with Singaporean physicians as a regular treatment from last July.
Fakhrul may return home on 21 October after taking medical treatment, the family added.
Earlier the BNP leader returned home on 21 September after taking medical treatment abroad for nearly two months.
Getting released from jail six months after his arrest, the BNP acting secretary general went to Singapore for treatment at the National University Hospital there. He has blockage in his internal carotid artery.
On 10 August, he went to the USA from Singapore for a surgery to have the blockage removed at Cornell Hospital.
