Chandpur: A man was beaten to death over a land related dispute at Sahapur village in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur on Saturday.

The deceased is Hannan Sheikh, a resident of the village.

The Faridganj police said Adam and another villager Abu Taher had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.

Over the issue, they locked in an altercation at about 12:00pm.

At one stage, Taher’s two sons Imran and Momin Hannan attacked Adam and beat him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.

Later he was taken to Faridganj Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chandpur Hospital Morgue.

Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station, confirmed the incident.
