Magura: A man was killed and 10 people were injured in a clash between two factions of Awami League over establishing dominance at Gangarampur village in Shalikha, Magura on Saturday morning.
The deceased was Arab Ali Loskor, son of Wazed Ali Loskor of the village.
Shalikha Police officer in-charge Abu Zihad said local Awami League leaders Dolar Miah and Gautam Saha had been at loggerheads over establishing dominance in the village.
As a sequel to the enmity, their supporters equipped with locally made weapons, sticks and brickbats attacked each other, triggering a fierce clash around 8am which left Arab Ali dead on the spot and 20 others injured.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
They recovered the body and sent it to Magura Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
