Chittagong: Three workers were killed after they inhaled toxic gas of a septic tank at an under-construction factory in Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) at the port city on Tuesday.

The deceased are Rezaul karim of Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur, Ariful Islam and Shah Alam, both are from Mongla thana of Khulna.

The dead were workers of SOS Outfit Limited of KEPZ.

Fire service and civil defense Assistant Director Mohammad Yahiya told BSS.

Javed Mahmud, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of KEPZ police station said they sent the bodies to morgue for autopsy.
