Jhenidah: Two minor children were killed as an under-construction gate collapsed on them at Sanbanda village in Kaliganj upazila of Jhinaidah on Tuesday.

The deceased are Chandni, who was 8 years old, daughter of Milon Hossain, and Nishi, around 7years old, daughter Akal Uddin of the village.

The Kaligong police Anwar Hossain said an under-construction concrete gate of one Abdul Aziz’s house of the village collapsed on the girls as they were playing near it at about 5:00pm, leaving the girls critically injured.

Locals rescued and took the duo to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead.
