Dhaka: The 17^th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Environment and Forest Ministry was held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here today with the committee chairman Mohammad Hasan Mahmud in the chair.

Committee members Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain Manju, Deputy Minister Abdullah Al Islam Jakob, M Nabi Newaj, Tipu Sultan, Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury and Merina Rahman attended the meeting.

The committee discussed the Conference of Parties (COP)-21 and Bangladesh’s position on it and also illegal grabbing of forests under the ministry of environment and forest in different places, including Gazipur and Cox’s Bazar.
