Perpetrators of Huseni Dalan blasts to be detected soon: Home Minister
Dhaka: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Friday said the investigators are close to identifying the perpetrators of the Huseni Dalan blasts.
‘We’re very close to detecting those involved in killing people throwing grenades in the Imambara of Huseni Dalan,’ he said while addressing a function organised by Saarc Cultural Society at the Supreme Court Bar Association Auditorium in the city.
Noting that several suspects have already been arrested in connection with the incident, Asaduzzaman said, ‘We’ll disclose everything on completion of the investigation.’
Two people, including a schoolboy, were killed and 100 others injured when miscreants exploded three handmade bombs in a Shia gathering at Huseni Dalan in the city on 24 October while they were preparing for bringing out a Tajia procession.
About the killings of two foreigners, the Home Minister said, ‘On completion of investigations, we’ll clearly tell you who were involved in the killings … who are ‘boro bhai’ (big brothers) and financers, and what was their motive.’
He reiterated that the killings of the two foreign citizens were part of local and international conspiracies, saying the investigation is going on in the right direction.
Italian national Cesare Tavella was gunned down in Dhaka city’s Gulshan area on 28 September while Japanese citizen Hoshi Kunio was shot to death in Rangpur on 3 October.
