A group of professionals, cultural activists and freedom fighters staged demonstrations in front of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office demanding end to ongoing violence resulting from blockade and hartal.

Protesters carried out separate processions and gathered near Gulshan 2 Gol Chattar area.

Staying there for one hour, the procession went towards Khaleda’s Gulshan office aiming to besiege the office.

Police stopped the procession near Khaleda’s office.

Later, in front of Khaleda’s office, 4 people leaded by actor Pijush Bandyopadhyay hanged a list of 54 people who have been burnt to death during the ongoing arson attacks.

 Managing Director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) Pijush Bandyopadhyay said ‘People of Bangladesh are against the violent activists occurred during the last one and a half months. People who do not believe in the liberation of Bangladesh, who are against the trial of war criminals are involved in these violent activities.’
