Dhaka: The government has appointed Mizanur Rahman as the next Bangladesh High Commissioner to Canada.  

Mizan will replace High Commissioner Kamrul Ahsan, said a Foreign Ministry media release on Monday.

Mizanur Rahman, a career diplomat, is serving as the Secretary (Bilateral & Consular Affairs) in the Ministry.  

He has already had his ambassadorial appointments in Egypt and the Netherlands. Besides, he served in Bangladesh Missions in Colombo, Moscow and Manchester in different capacities.
