Dhaka: The Islamic State (IS) claimed the attack on a checkpoint of Industrial police on Wednesday morning at Baraipara in Ashulia.

The SITE intelligence Group, a US monitoring organisation, in an article published in their website on US time Wednesday night claimed IS’s involvement in an attack on police checkpoint which left a police constable dead and another injured.

Earlier, a group of miscreants made a sudden attack on the police checkpost at Baraipara and hacked two police constables at about 8:00am.

The deceased is Mukul, a constable of Sripur police camp.

The Ashulia police said Mukul and Nur-E-Alam, another constable, were on duties at Baraipara.

Later, the duo was taken to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared Mukul dead.
