7 hurt in crude bomb blast in DU

Seven people, including the office secretary of Bangladesh Chhattra League (BCL) and a journalist, were injured as a crude bomb was blasted at Dhaka University’s TSC on Sunday night.
The victims were identified as Sheikh Russel, 28, office secretary of BCL, Joydev, 28, reporter of vernacular daily Samakal, Mridul Kanti, 33, section officer of Jagannath University (JU), M Himu, 18, student of Northern University, Mantu Miah, 35, a chatpati-stall owner at TSC, Shohel, 28, a BCL activist, and Abul Kashem, 33.
The injured were whisked off to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
DMCH police outpost in-charge sub-inspector Mozammel Haque said miscreants set off the crude bomb at TSC at about 9:00pm, leaving the seven people injured.
