Netrakona: A woman and her son were killed as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw overturned on Netrakona-Kendua road in Durgashram area of Kendua upazila on Friday afternoon.

The deceased are Madina Akhter, wife of Nazrul Islam, a resident of Kismat Barengka village of Purbadola upazila, and her son Shuvo Islam.

Kendua police officer-in-charge Abhiranjan Deb said the auto-rickshaw overturned on the road in the area in the afternoon when its driver was giving side to a goods-laden trolley, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Netrakona Adhunik Sadar Hospital.
