Savar: Three members of Savar industrial police have been suspended for dereliction of duty during a sudden attack on their colleagues at a check-post in Ashulia on Wednesday that left a constable killed and another injured.

The action was taken against constables Imran Aziz, Apple Mahmud and Pinaruzzaman as they ran away to a jungle for cover instead of acting during the attack.

The Police Headquarters also ordered departmental investigation against them, said assistant superintendent of police Ashraf Ullah of industrial police-1.

Earlier on Wednesday, industrial police constable Mukul Hossain of Sripur police camp was killed and another constable Nur-E-Alam injured as some unidentified miscreants made a sudden attack on them and hacked them indiscriminately while they had been performing their duties at Baraipara check-post adjacent to Nandan Park on Nabinagar-Chandra Highway.

The policemen in question ran away towards a nearby jungle instead of helping their colleagues during the attack.
