Barisal: Two siblings were killed and four others injured as a micro bus collided head-on with a pickup at Ichladi on the Dhaka-Barisal Highway in Ujirpur upazila on Monday morning.

The deceased are Ismael Howlader, and his brother Abul Howlader, residents of the district town.

Witnesses said the Barisal-bound micro-bus carrying national newspapers from Dhaka collided head-on with the Dhaka-bound betel nut-loaded pickup in the area at about 7:30am, leaving the two pick-up van passengers dead on the spot and the drivers and helpers of both the vehicles injured.

The injured were taken to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

The Ujirpur police recovered the bodies and sent those to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
