Abducted bride rescued, 4 held

Narayanganj: A newly-wed bride, who was abducted by a gang of miscreants at Rasulpur village in Araihazar upazila on Friday, was rescued by members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) from Kaliganj area of the upazila in Narayanganj on Sunday night.

The bride was is Subarna Akter, daughter of Abdul Latif.

Police said Subarna Aktar, daughter of Abdul Latif got married to Najim, son of Zahirul Haque of Putina village in Rupganj upazila on Friday.

When the private car carrying the bride and the bridegroom reached Rasulpur village in Araihazar upazila at about 6:00pm a gang of miscreants, riding a microbus, attacked the car.

Later, the miscreants dragged bride Subarna into their microbus at gunpoint and fled the scene.

Father of the bride Latif filed a case with Araihazar Police Station accusing six people including one Mofazzal of Tekpara area.

Later, members of RAB 11 conducted a drive in Kaliganj area and rescued Subarna at about 10:00pm on Sunday.

The elite force also arrested four people from the spot.
