Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday asked the members of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence to work with honesty and utmost professionalism for the welfare of the country.

‘You’ll stand beside distressed people in case of any disaster and accident as their trusted friends and that’s your sacred duty and responsibility,’ she said.

The Prime Minister was inaugurating the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence Week 2015 at Fire Service and Civil Defence Complex in capital’s Mirpur area.

Appreciating the members of Fire Service and Civil Defence for gaining the trust of common people with their sincerity, integrity and courage, Hasina said her government is implementing various projects to build this force with international standard rescue equipment despite limited resources.

The Prime Minister also said the members of the Fire Service are also given necessary trainings.
