Chittagong: A staff reporter of private television channel, Mohona Television, was shot by a group of miscreants near the village of Gahira at Raozan upazila in Chittagong on Sunday morning.

The injured is Rajib Sen.

A group of around seven miscreants attacked the vehicle carrying Rajib Sen, when he was returning from the burial place of executed BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury.

Chittagong correspondent of Ekushey Television Nayon Barua Joy said a group of miscreants intercepted the vehicle in front of the house while they were coming out from the village in the morning.

Later the miscreants opened shots targeting the vehicle, which left Rajib injured.

Later, Rajib was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Raozan Police officer-in-charge Prodip Kumar Das said they were informed about the incident and were trying to find out the reason behind.

Strong security measures were in place in the hometown of Salauddin Quader whose funeral was held on Sunday morning.

Earlier, two war criminals — BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, were hanged at about 12:55am on Sunday.
