Sylhet: Four more people–two judges and two Policemen–testified before a local court on Tuesday in the schoolboy Abu Sayeed killing case.

Syhet Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Abdur Rashid recorded the statements of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1 Judge Shahedul Karim, Court-2 Judge Farhana Yesmin, Sylhet Criminal Investigation Department (CID) inspector Shamimur Rahman Peer and Jakiganj Police Station sub-inspector Ratan Lal Deb in the afternoon, said public prosecutor (PP) of the court Abdul Malek.

Abdul Malek said 22 witnesses out of total 37 have so far made their depositions before the court in the murder case.

On 17 November, Judge of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Abdur Rashid framed charges against four accused in the case.

The indicted people are Ebadur Rahman, constable of Airport Police Station; Mahib Hossain Masum, publicity secretary of the district unit of Olama League; Abdur Rakib, general secretary of the Olama League unit; and Ataur Rahman Geda, an police informant.

Of them, Masum, who had remained absconding, surrendered before the court on 10 November.

On 14 March this year, police recovered the decomposed body of Abu Sayeed, 9, a fourth grader of Shahi Eidgah Hazrat Shahi Mir Govt Primary School, from the house of police constable Ebadur at Jharnapar in the city after he had been kidnapped on 11 March. Police found the body wrapped in seven sacks- one put into another.

Police arrested the constable, Rakib and Geda in connection with the killing.

The arrestees were then interrogated at the police station where they reportedly confessed to killing the schoolboy.

Constable Ebadur Rahman made a confessional statement under section 164 before Judge Shahedul Karim of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1.

Abdul Matin, victim's father, filed a murder case against the arrestees and three other unidentified people.
