Another ‘Shibir man beaten by BCL activists’ dies
Dhaka: Another Islami Chhatra Shibir activist injured in Monday’s attack allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists near MM College in Jessore died on way to Dhaka on early Tuesday.
The deceased is Kamrul Ahsan.
Shibir in a press release signed by its Assistant Publicity Secretary Jamal Uddin claimed, led by the college unit BCL president Rawshan Iqbal Shahi, a group of BCL activists, numbering 10-15, captured Kamrul and his two associates Habibullah Hossain and Abdullah Al Mamun, all third year students of MM College, from a student mess on Monday afternoon.
Later the BCL men confined the trio to Asad Hall of the college and tortured them there.
Informed, police rescued the victims and took them to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Habibullah dead.
Later Kamrul died at about 2:00am on Tuesday while being taken to Dhaka.
