Dhaka: A child was burned to death as a fire broke out at a slum near Islamic Foundation building in Dhaka’s Agargaon area on Wednesday morning.

Sher-E-Bangla Police officer-in-charge GG Biswash said body of the child, Shajib, was recovered immediately after a fire swept through the slum at about 11:25am.

Fire service control room in-charge officer Enayet Hossain said 11 units of Mirpur headquarter, Tejgaon, and Mohammad fire service are working to douse the fire.

Reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
