Gopalganj: A man was killed and 25 others injured as a bus fell into a roadside ditch at Verarbazar area on the Gopalganj-Tekerhat road under Sadar upazila on Sunday.

The deceased is Sagor Baroi, 50, a resident of Rathbari village under Rajoir upazila in Madaripur district.

Sadar police sub-inspector Abu Naim said the accident occurred when a bus fell into a roadside ditch in the area at about 12:30pm when the driver lost control over the steering leaving 26 passengers of the vehicle injured.

The injured were sent to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital where Sagor succumbed to his injuries.
