Minor girl 'raped' for 22 days in Sylhet

Sylhet: A 13-year-old girl was reportedly raped by a young man for 22 days after she was abducted from Hemu Namashudrapara area at Jaintapur upazila in Sylhet, reports UNB.

A case was filed with Jaintapur Police Station against the alleged rapist Ratindra Namashudra, 21, of Jayda village in Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj district, and his employer Bijoy Namashudra, 30, of Hemu Namashudrapara, on Wednesday.

According to the case statement, Ratindra, who used to work as a domestic help at Bijoy’s house in the locality, allegedly abducted the victim on 9 November with the help of his employer.

Later, Ratindra kept the girl confined to different places in the area and raped her for 22 days.

On Monday, the victim managed to flee from her confinement and returned to her house on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, victim’s brother Ananta Biswas filed the case with Jaintapur Police Station accusing the duo.
