Bangladesh bans raw jute export

Dhaka: Bangladesh government has imposed ban on raw jute export, says a notification issued from Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
The notification, signed by senior assistant secretary Baby Parvin of the ministry, reads, under section 4 and 13 of the Jute Ordinance 1962, the exportation of raw jute will remain suspended until further notice for proper implementation of the Mandatory Jute Packaging Act 2010.’
Government is conducting raid to ensure use of jute bags in production and manufacturing of six products, paddy, rice, wheat, corns, fertilizer, and sugar, for realisation of Mandatory Jute Packaging Act 2010.
