Feni: Miscreants torched a local land office at Radhanagar in Chhagalnaiya upazila in the early hours of Thursday.

Abul Kashem, security guard of the office, said a group of miscreants hurled some crude bombs then set the land office on fire in the area at about 3:15am, burning down valuable documents and furniture.

A firefighting unit went to the spot and doused the blaze.

Police arrested Rabiul Haque Chowdhury Mahbub, a chairman of Radhanagar union parishad and also BNP joint secretary of the same union, on suspicious of involvement in the fire incident.

Chhagalnaiya police officer-in-charge confirmed the incident.
