Gazipur: Muggers looted Tk 26.10 lakh from employees of BD Food at Nanduian Bahadurpur in Gazipur on Tuesday morning.

Factory sources said four employees, including accounts officer Billal Hossain, were returning to the factory by a microbus after withdrawing the money from Chandana Chourasta branch of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited.

When the microbus reached Naduian Bahadurpur, a gang of five muggers intercepted it at gunpoint.

The thugs beat the passengers in the microbus, including two security guards, and made away with a bag containing the money, says a UNB report.

The injured were taken to a local hospital.
