Lakshmipur: A bus driver was killed in petrol bomb attack by miscreants at Kasidbari in Lakshmipur on Friday night.

The deceased is Sumon Hossain. Further details of the victim are still awaited.

Police and locals said the miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the Chittagong-bound bus of ‘Ashique Paribahan’ on Lakshmipur-Dhaka Highway at Kasidbari around 10:45pm, leaving Sumon injured with burns.

Critically injured Sumon was first taken to sadar hospital. 

Sumon died on the way to Noakhali Medical College Hospital.

Nine passengers of the bus were also injured as it plunged into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the steering. They were admitted to local clinics.
