Benapole: An assistant sub-inspector of the Benapole port police fled with 13 seized gold bars, leaving an arrestee in the police station on Tuesday morning, reports local news agency.

ASI Rafiqul Islam Rafiq, along with two other police members, had previously arrested Rezaul Karim from in front of Raghunathpur BGB camp in Benapole and seized those gold bars.

Later he brought Rezaul to the port police station, after which he got away with the gold bars leaving the arrestee there.

Officer-in-charge of the police station Opurbo Hasan said a case was filed against Rafiq.
