Narayanganj: Four people, including a child, were killed and four others injured as a truck rammed an auto-rickshaw at Karnagop in Rupganj upazila on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway on Friday morning.

The deceased were Kader Miah, 65, Swity Begum, and her son Limon, 2, and the unidentified auto-rickshaw driver. All of the deceased and injured were passengers of the auto-rickshaw.  

Rupganj Police officer-in-charge Mahmudul Islam told NTV Online that an auto-rickshaw, while trying to overtake a bus, collided head-on with a truck on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at about 9:00am, leaving three people dead on the spot and five others injured.

Among the injured, one died on way to hospital while the others were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
