Chittagong: At least 10 people were injured in a clash between the activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Chittagong Govt College campus on Wednesday.
Quoting witnesses, police said two crude bombs were exploded near the Victory Day rally organised by BCL at Shaheed Minar on the college campus at about 12:00noon.
Though it was not clear who hurled those crude bombs, the BCL activists locked horns in altercation with a group of Shibir activists who came out of the Academic Building of the college immediately after the explosion, reports UNB, a local news agency.
As the two sides exchanged brick chips, at least 10 were injured.
Chakbazar police officer-in-charge Aziz Uddin said on information, police rushed to the campus and calmed the situation by firing several bullets in the air.
Later, the BCL activists came out of the campus and blocked College Road in protest, leading to the suspension of vehicular movement for a about half an hour.
