BNP joining polls despite possible vote-rigging

Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party is joining municipal elections thought it is thoroughly certain about widespread electoral fraud, said BNP’s acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday.
He was addressing a discussion organised by a factio of Dhaka Union of Journalists.
Mirza Fakhrul said country is now witnessing a new form of one-party rule that is suppressing opposition parties.
He warned that the absence of democracy is not good for a country.
Elections to 234 municipalities are going to be held on 30 December.
