Dhaka: Muggers looted Tk1.20 lakh after stabbing a fruit trader at Dayaganj intersection in Dhaka early on Friday.

The victim is Yusuf, a resident of Sayedabad Janapada intersection in the capital.

Victim’s wife Shahinur said a group of muggers intercepted a rickshaw carrying Yusuf in the area and snatched away Tk1.20 lakh from his possession while he was going to Badamtali for purchasing fruits at about 5:30am.

Being resisted, the muggers also stabbed him, leaving him critically injured.

Later he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
