Woman strangled to death
Dhaka: A woman was strangled to death by miscreants at her flat in the capital’s Kafrul area on Sunday night, reports United News of Bangladesh.
The deceased is Sabrina Sultana Runa, believed to be 40 years old, daughter of late Dr. Nurul Haque of Narhotto in Kahalu upazila of Bogra.
Runa, who was divorced by her husband, used to live in her father’s apartment in South Ibrahimpur under Kafrul Police Station.
The Kafrul police said some miscreants stormed into the 5th floor apartment Runa lived in fifth floor on the six-storey building at about 8:30pm and strangulated her with a scarf, leaving her critically injured.
A woman who shares Runa’s flat called Runa’s sister Rozina immediately after the incident.
Rozina went to the spot along with policemen and found Runa lying unconscious on the kitchen room.
Runa was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared her dead at about 10:00pm.
The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.
