Dhaka: The High Court (HC) on Tuesday ordered the authorities concerned to close down unregistered boilers in different factories across the country within 60 days. 

A High Court division bench comprising Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury and Justice Md. Iqbal Kabir passed the order asking Ministry of Industries to inspect all such factories using boilers, ensure their registration and submit a compliance report by September 30.

The High Court came up with the order after holding hearing on a writ petition that sought court's directive to stop use of unregistered boilers in factories across the country.

Justice Watch Foundation filed the writ after the latest boiler accident in a Gazipur factory on July 3, resulting 13 people death.
