40 JnU students sued over cop assault
Dhaka: A case was filed against 40 students of Jagannath University (JnU) in connection with Monday's assault on a police sergeant in the capital.
Sergeant Kaiser Hamid filed the case against 40 unknown students of the university and drivers and helpers of two double decker buses carrying with Ramna police station on Tuesday afternoon, said officer-in-charge of the police station Moshiur Rahman.
The case was filed for attacking the policeman and obstructing him from performing his duty, he said.
As two double-decker buses carrying students of Jagannath University were running on the wrong side of the road while going to Farmgate on Monday afternoon sergeant Kaiser Hamid tried to intercept the two buses in the city's Banglamotor.
At one stage, students of the university swooped on the sergeant and assaulted him physically.
