Chargesheet in Gulshan attack case soon: DMP chief

Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Miah on Wednesday said the chargesheet in the Holey Artisan Cafe attack case will be submitted very soon.
"The investigating agency has already received the forensic report in connection with the case," he added.
The DMP Commissioner came up with the remark after a vehicle handing over programme at the DMP headquarters. Dutch Bangla Bank donated two microbuses for police at the function.
He said Indian intelligence agency did not interrogate arrested militant Sohel Mahfuz, but local intelligence agencies found his involvement in the café attack during their investigation.
Police arrested Sohel Mahfuz alias Nasrullah from Chapainababgonj on July 6. He is suspected to be one of the main suppliers of explosives and firearms of the banned Islamic outfit Neo JMB.
Earlier, addressing the function, Asaduzzaman Miah said the incidents of crime will come down if the mobility of police increases to control traditional crimes.
The two vehicles, which have been donated by Dutch Bangla Bank, will be used for providing security to people, not for the personal use of police officials, he added.
