Bhola: Two fishermen were killed as a trawler capsized in the Meghna River in Lalmohan upazila early Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Kabir, 35, son of Md Hossain, and Rasel, 20, son of Foyezullah of Fatemabad in the upazila.

Md Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Lalmohan Police Station, said the fishing trawler with 14 fishermen sank in the river around 5 am due to stormy weather.

All but two managed to swam ashore, he said, adding that divers salvaged the trawler around 11am and recovered the bodies from it.
