Chittagong: Eleven more children from hilly Tripurapara in Sitakunda upazila of the district were admitted to Fouzdarhat Infectious Diseases Hospital with high fever on Friday morning.

Of them, six children were admitted to the hospital at about 11:00am and five others at at about 2:30pm. However, it is yet to confirm whether they have been infected by measles virus, Civil Surgeon of the district Azizur Rahman Siddique told news agency UNB.

On information, a special team of physicians has been sent to Tripurapara, the Civil Surgeon added.

Earlier, nine children of the area died of unknown disease and later Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) said they had been suffering from measles.

Besides, 131 children were admitted to Infectious Diseases Hospital and Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) with same symptoms.

Of them, 107 children left hospitals after recovery while nine others have been undergoing treatment at CMCH.
