Dhaka: A conjoined twin will undergo an operation at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) tomorrow.

‘In line with the decision of our medical board, we will perform the separation surgery at 8 am tomorrow,’ said Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery Department Shahnoor Islam while addressing a press conference at the surgical conference room of the DMCH on Monday, reports the BSS.

She said, ‘We are monitoring the health conditions of the nine-month-old twin Toufa and Tahura, who were born in Gaibandha district’.

Sahida Begum, mother of the twin, said she is very hopeful that her girls will get normal life after the operation.

‘Doctors gave me assurance that my kids will be okay,’ she said in an emotion-chocked voice, urging all to pray for her kids.

Head of Pediatric Surgery Department Prof Dr Ashraful Huq and Coordinator of Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit were also present at the briefing.
