‘Listed criminal’ held with arms in Savar

Savar: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a person from Dhaka-Aricha Highway in Radio Colony Bus Stand area of Savar on Tuesday.

The arrestee is Al Amin, believed to be 40, reports UNB.

Al Amin is accused in several cases including murder and rape. He was absconding for long, RAB said.

RAB-4 company commander Major Abdul Hakim said acting on a tip-off that Al Amin was going to Nabinagar by a car, a team of RAB set up check post on the highway.

Later, the RAB arrested Al Amin searching a microbus along with two pistols, two magazines, six bullets, 1,800 pieces of Yaba tablets, 11 mobile sets and Tk 20,000.

They also seized the microbus.

Al Amin will be handed over to Savar Model Police.

Earlier, police conducted a raid on Al Amin’s house at Bhabanipur village and held him. Later, he escaped handcuffed from police custody.

Besides, his associate Ismail was killed in police firing while Al-Amin remained in hiding.
